Currently equipped with Dunlop SP01's with a Michelin Energy+ on the spare! (It's only a year old, I've had it for 2 weeks, I guess that's what was on it when new)

 

In the normal course of events as the tyres wear I would use the Michelin plus a matching tyre for the first pair of replacements (the least worn tyre going onto the spare) then a pair of the Michelins to match the rest of the car for the second pair, and stick with the Michelins.

 

Anyone aware of any problem with the Michelins on these cars?

 

THEN of course we have the "Winter Tyres" thing - and I live on top of a hill!

 

So maybe I should consider a 4-season tyre - so question 2 is - anyone used any particular 4-season tyres on this vehicle, and were they OK?

I'm guessing it didn't have a spare as standard and the random Michelin has been added.

 

I've not heard anyone on the Rapid forums mention MIchelins as OE supply.

 

The SP01 is not the standard fit Dunlop either - the undesirable SP Sport Maxx is the norm I think.

OEM is almost certainly "whatever brand the buyers got the best deal on 10_000 of this month".

 

Personally I'd rather Michelins than Dunlops which I usually find lacking in aquaplane resistance, wet grip, and have a high wear rate too. And indeed Michelin have just launched a new 4 season tyre.
