Fabia II 1.2 Sport, 59 plate - Bluetooth and rear parking sensor options

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I'm delighted to say that we're in the process of purchasing a lovely 59 plate Fabia II 1.2 Sport in Corrida Red.  This will be a second car for us, needed because I'm starting a new job soon that involves driving rather than train commuting (our other car is a gorgeous 64 plate Yet in Laste White).  All in all, this Fabia will be my seventh Skoda!

I was pleasantly surprised by the spec of this 5+ year old Fabia, and it is a lovely drive with low mileage.  But there's a couple of tweaks I'd like to make which I'd welcome some advice on :

1.  Rear parking sensors.  I've done some searches on here and I've seen the typical £15 on eBay sets, which look pretty good. I think I'd be okay to do an install of one of these, but I wondered if anyone has a particular recommendation (maybe one that is colour coded to Corrida Red?) and whether I can expect the inside of the bumper on this one to be marked with the right drill points?  Alternatively, does anyone havd any views on what looks like alternative types - the ones that attach as a bar or a surround to the read number plate?

2.  Bluetooth capability for music and calls.  Again, I've done some research on here already.  It looks like I have a choice between something like the Kinovo BTC450 plug in jobbie or something like a Dension unit which plugs into the back of the Dance head unit.  I guess I'd rather have as neat an installation as possible, but the price differential looks quite high.  Comments and thoughts welcome.  On the plug in things like the Kinovo, can this stay plugged into the 12V connector at all times or would it drain the battery?

3.  Rear speakers.  Although it may already have them (I didn't actually check - I only checked that the radio worked as it should).

Any and all advice welcomed.  Thanks all.

Sensors, I've got colour coded ones fitted by the dealer. They look alreet but its suffering a sensor failure at the moment after 2 years. Bit of a pita. There are plenty of company's fitting them professionally.

Bluetooth, what radios in it? A dance?

Rear speakers, what spec is the car? Usually anything other than the lowest spec has rear speakers. However they are a tad pointless unless you often have passengers in the back.

Thanks for that.  On the sensors, I was looking to install them myself - it looks like a bit of fun!  As for the radio, it has the Dance head unit.  Thanks.

Not sure about self fit sensors, but id defo get the best ones you can. Not worry the hassle of cheap ones.

Not sure on the dance, but usually the bluetooth can be retrofitted as an additional unit. However i dont know about the Dance specifically
