2 warning lights on. (Fabia vRS)

Featured Replies

My Dad just rang me to say that someone stalled his car (driving instructor), and when it was restared 2 warnign lights came on. Both Amber.

The first he said is the glowplugs one and it is continually flashing.

The other he said the symbol looks like a gearbox or something like that but in the service book it mentioned something to do with exhaust gases/emissions?

Any ideas? Car is standard apart from a Jabba remap.

Could try switch off the engine leaving it for abit and then restart it.

Mr Lummox might be able to shed more light (pardon the pun)

Looks like the Engine Management light. You need to get it read with a VAG COM. Is it under warranty? If so get it to the dealer asap. If not someone who lives near might be able to help

Would suggest if it's under warranty and mapped you use VAG-COM before you go the dealer. Give you a chance to get your facts straight.

Where are you based there may be someone locally who can help.

a remapped instructor car?! is he a member here? it's not me or Chris or andyellis, wonder if he's told the insurance company? would be interested to find out how much his insurance is for driving school + remap!

Lucky buggers learning to drive in a remapped vRS Fabia.... Felt the same when I saw a 55 plate Audi 2.0 TDI being driven by a learner....

Anyway - glow plug flashing can mean the brake sender switch has gone but its best to read the fault codes to verify. The engine light being on might be more serious. Get to a dealer / vag com operative a.s.a.p.

In Stranraer in SW scotland. I have VAGCOM but am in Dundee so can't do it. Dealer is over 50miles away.

If it was serious wouldn't it be red light? Any idea's why a stall may cause this/something to happen?

Warning light is always orange - there's no stages to it. If its driving OK, I would treat her gently but still get to the dealers a.s.a.p.

Were there any clues as to what was being done at the time of the lights coming on or did they just do it at a non-descript point?

If the engine management light is on won't it be in limp/get yer home mode?

not critical like brakes or RED oil light but might still do some damage if not seen to :(

Seems odd that a stall could do it though, faulty sensor somewhere?

glow plug flashing check that the brake bulbs are not blown mine did this when both rear brake lights blew......

what was the fault/cure?????
