Problem fitting towbar

Featured Replies

I have a little issue fitting a towbar to a Skoda Yeti.

I'm using the genuine Skoda electric kit and have run all the wires to the right places, but the problem is with the 13 pin socket.

More specifically it's the drop down backing plate that it is supposed to screw to.

The holes in the backing plate are too big for the captive screws. And not threaded. The screws aren't long enough to put much of a nut on the back either and they don't look like self tapping screws.

I'll take pictures and add them later, but any thoughts on overcoming this so far?

Here's a picture of the backing plate that drops down. Basically these holes are too big and not threaded.
