Well Chuffed

Featured Replies

Took the Monte Carlo on its first long journey to Morecambe and it was fantastic. Went the scenic way from Bradford into north Yorkshire then on to Morecambe, it loved the twisty country roads. On way back took the motorway and it was happy to overtake cars with no problem. Coming from a 1.9 turbo to a 1 litre is not much of a shock then I thought it would be. Computer said 59.2 mpg. Sat nav was great.

They are seriously good little cars. If VW do put a 1.0 turbo into the up then that would be the icing on the cake.

When you wind them up they sound cracking and pick up speed quick enough.

I find my monte a lot more refined than the car a took out for a test drive.

Glad you are happy

Yesiy is very comfortable. How much to fill the tank up from empty?.

costs me £35 (it clicked off at £33 odd but i persevered with it) to brim the tank, and i see about 300ish miles from it, my PID is telling me that long term im around 46mpg which is all town driving, with a bit of dual carriageway, i did think it might be better but maybe i just have a heavy foot, or im still driving it like a diesel (came from a MK4 GT TDI Golf)

i do love mine though its a hoot to drive and its very comfy too :)

Must be your driving lol. My PID shows about 400 to a tank. On my daily 7 mile commute I've never got under 60mpg with 70 being the best.

Dunno what I'm doing wrong, I.don't hammer it, been taking it quite steady but long term pid data hasn't cleared high 40s

Managed 411.11 on my last tank, also did a 325ish mils trip today and averaged 59 mpg :)

I think the Monte Carlo is on wider wheels, so probably not going to get quite the economy levels of cars on smaller wheel / tyre size.

Mines a monte, most of my journeys are at least a few miles and usually not stop start so should be reasonably high MPG
