07 1.9TDi Starting problems..

Featured Replies

Hi All, bought my Ex Taxi cab, high mileage but well maintained, lots of new bits, new cams and top end re-build, Injectors, flywheel, rad, oil pump, fuel pump. sump. glow plugs, but it often doesn't want to start properly when its cold,. takes a bit of cranking, runs fine once started, seems like its not keeping fuel in the injector rail. .. its had several code reads, new battery, new starter motor, I call it Triggers Brush....

it seems ok when parked downhill and when warm.

running out of things to replace... HELP!!

sounds like an air leak in the fuel line

I know you mentioned that the fuel pump had been changed, but which one (or both)? If the electric in-tank lift pump hasn't been changed yet that could also be a possibility.

i had a similar problem with my fabia, if you can get someone with the right software get them to check the fuel pump timing. I got mine re set and now starts better than ever.

There is no fuel pump timing on these I'm afraid, it's a PD. Like common rail systems the fuel pump on the PD isn't timed in any way. Was your Fabia perhaps an early 1.9 with a distributor pump setup?

I recall a similar post probably end of last year...

Try searching the keyword 'downhill' as I'm pretty confident the poster used that description, I don't recall though if he got things fixed, certainly tried a few things though.
