Massive Wining When Turning Steering?

Featured Replies

Hi, my cars been doing this for a while but its got really bad recently, on idle its got a slight wine when i turn the steering left or right it gets louder

can anyone shed some light on that..?

how is the oil level in your power steering?

Car is suffering from alcoholism?  ;)

Seriously, I'd start by checking the PAS fluid level too.

And check for leaks if the fluid is low.

I was hoping to work up to that level of disappointment for him :giggle: , but seriously, yes, as BrownBarge said check for leaks, if oil is coming from the rack gaiters, then I'm afraid the rack has just claimed it's cremation rights. Seem to be a spate of these at the moment, mine went about 6 weeks ago.
