If they did an estate version (a la the Passat) I would go for one, but alas, I am stuck with an old diesel Octy ;)

Don't know what age of Superb you are looking at but if it's before 2005 (which includes some 54 plates) it might not have folding back seats and speaking as a family chap, they are quite important - not crucial, but very handy. The back doors are also quite big so watch yourself in tight parking spaces. Get the family to stand out in the rain while you park it!! They don't seem to find it particularly amusing but needs must! I have gone from a 150bhp 1.8T Octavia to the 130 bhp 1.9Tdi Superb. There is a difference but it's more about the way you drive it. The Diesel is easier to stall when you first get it but you get used to that.

At the end of the day, it's a different car that you drive differently. It handles like a big car but you don't feel the need to thrash it, which doesn't really explain why I got a speeding ticket within 24 hours of getting the thing. If you are used to petrol then it may seem a little noisy but believe me, looking at that average mpg indicator on the dash is a wonderful thing that helps you get over any noise issues.

The 130bhp is no slouch though, it shifts. I can't help being extremely interested about 170bhp. I need some more info on that!
