Ive just updated the firmware from stock 4120 to josi 5238 that inc vim & radio text, so now its fully updated both maps & firmware

I need a GPS but not where that sits, in very right handed.....lol

How do you get hold of the latest map? I've got version 7918, but my dealer says it's the latest. My SW version is 5238. Many thanks.

mine came with v12 maps already installed, yours are v9 / you can download the new maps at gps underground site

I have the Amundsen+ on my 2012 Skoda Superb which does not seem to have any map updates or even a update facility but my question is could my unit be replaced with a Columbus like yours

yes its a straight swap thats what i did with my superb, you will need to buy a separate bluetooth module as the rns510 does not come with builtin phone function enabled & it will need coding by vcds.

 

You can update the maps on the rns315 they come on a sd card & can only be bought from dealers approx £150 & can only be used once also there is no way to be able to download any copy or 3rd party maps...ref the firmware on the rns315 you can have firmware updated from your local skoda dealers only if you car came from the factory with the rns315,if not they won't touch it / these are the main reasons why i changed to the columbus when i spotted one at the right price.
