picked up my new car yesterday and along the roof line theres what looks like sticky remains from those plastic sheets they put on to protect during its travels, it runs along the gutter line

before you say i know take it back, but as its 30 miles to the dealers im happy enough to remove it myself im just wondering what i should and shouldn't use on new paint

i will be letting them know about it though as its shoddy but to save me time im happy to do it. ive not washed it or tried anything yet, id rather ask those in the know

i have sticky stuff remover but its household not car, i have autoglym tar remover, polish etc etc

I'd think the AG tar remover would make light work of it.

Get some wax or sealer on as well now. There will be no protection

ok so to the uneducated, i have polish i have wax i can guess what sealer is but is it applied on top of polish or wax?

Ideally on bare paint and always under wax
