whats a used VCDS worth

Featured Replies

purchased about 2 months ago from alexia

hex can cable

friend of mine is selling one and gave me first dibs even though i already have one

(his golf is currently upside down in a ditch somewhere )

Only the original owner qualifies for full support from Ross Tech. For that reason I don't think a second hand cable is worth as much as a new one. I've seen them go on here for £100 - £150 though.

Cool he is asking for £100 so that's about right

Thanks

The advantage of a genuine cable is you can get the software updates for it.

£65 ($99) gets you the official support from Ross Tech by registering the cable in your name. That lets you ask questions on the forum, etc.

£100 sounds quite good.

Ive already got a genuine cable

Had to laugh when he bought one as he could have made use of mine when ever he wanted

Think he only used it a few times as he wasnt sure what he was doing with

I might put it for sale in the for sale section on his behalf

(if that's allowed I'll make sure I have the cable in my possession before listing it)

Just check it is genuine and not a clone.  Lots of clones flying around at the moment  :(

put it on ebay and you'll almost certainly draw over £200 for it.

I'd give 100 quid for it tbf.

If they haven't registered it with Ross-Tech it is worth about 90% of the price of a new one :)
