Hi could anyone help couple of days ago I started my fabia up and I could here a tapping sound coming from the engine also could here it through the exhaust so after I heard the tapping I turned the engine of let it sit for about 40mins started it up again and it had gone not had the problem since is it something to be worried about it had a full service 4 weeks ago I did have a look on here and hydraulic lifters popped up aswel as wrong grade of oil

So normally when I turn the ignition on I can here the fuel pump prime like a squirt of diesel but now I can't it's like a clicking noise but it starts up first turn of the key every time

Can only help with problem one but it sounds like a sticky tappet. It's happened to mine 2 or 3 times in 6 years. Nothing to worry about but keep an eye on it for a week or two for peace of mind.

Thanks for the advice think I'm going have to get it booked in a garage get then have a look just a peace of mind do you know how much I would be looking to replace the cam a lifters? Thanks
