Hello from Exeter!

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

My name's Chris and I'm proud to say I'm now the owner of a Mk1 Octavia vRS Estate. Believe it or not, this is actually my first car but have had no problems at all with the size or additional power over most first cars. Being 22, the insurance was fortunately very reasonable and as an overall package I love it! :D

Aside from the wheels (18" BBS CS5 replicas I believe...please do correct me if I'm wrong) and an aftermarket head unit it's all standard and will stay that way as there's nothing that needs improving at the moment. When I bought it the front tyres did need replacing so there are now some Goodyear Eagle F1s on the front which are nice and grippy in both the dry and wet.

I live in Exeter but once I get used to the overall feel of the car it'll be taken out on day trips far and wide hopefully, as was the original intention before I bought it. I did initially want a Passat estate (B5.5, 2003 or so) but after comparing it to the Octavia vRS it was a no-brainer to go for the latter. Fortunately I only had to travel to Exmouth to purchase it and have so far only seen one other Mk1 vRS estate on my travels. Seen a couple hatchbacks though.

I must get some more pictures of it but for now here she is when I bought her. The private plate will be returning to the previous owner when the documents have gone through the system and it will sport an `03 plate thereafter.
