Rear parkings sensor fault

Featured Replies

I have a 56 Octavia vrs and am having issues with the rear parking sensors. They keeping beeping when reversing when nothing is behind the car... Any suggestions?

Clean them out with a soft toothbrush and water, then blow out with an airline to make sure they are not blocked to start with.

Must try that with mine , which doubles as coffee maker/dish washer , sat nag . might bring a gleam to her eyes. (I see Auric, in distance , rushing to try this cure :dull:  ).

One of the sensors maybe failing due to water ingress into the sensor, with VCDS you can use the measuring blocks to see what sensor is doing what. When it beeps look to see which sensor triggered it, then replace that sensor.

Most likely dirt in the sensor - I've had it happen to mine a few times although the occasions on which it occurs can be pretty random.

Even when the rear of the thing looks like it's been hosed down with the contents of a coal-miner's bathtub they'll function just fine, but the tiniest bit of grime in the right place on an otherwise spotless bumper can often be enough to trip the things out..

Like Mender says - a gentle clean & chances are normal service will be resumed.

Yeah, try cleaning them at first.

During winter sometimes snow freezes on them and then you get neverending beep when in reverse. The same could happen right now but with dust or mud.
