Hello from Wiltshire

Featured Replies

Hi - My name's Neil and I'm bailing out of a company car scheme to buy my own.  I've been driving Hondas and Toyotas in the scheme, but always preferred the older 1985-95 Mercedes  which I used to buy second hand (190, eclass estate, e class cabriolet and the S class; I still have a 1999 R129 SL in the garage hoping its value will go up one day).

My wife drives a Citigo which is a fantastic car and driving this and looking at the other cars in the Skoda range reminds me of the old Mercs.  Some of the controls and some of the styling are similar and they seem to have the same characteristics of decent quality and reliability combined with good value and comfort.  I'm 6'5" and have never found a small car as comfortable as the Citigo.  So I've ordered one of the last remaining Superb 2 estates, CR170 4X4 DSG L&K in the only colour available - brown! With the new version of the estate arriving sooner than I expected (earlier reports said 2016), I don't seem to have the best deal at just £1500 of list with decent APR but the dealer has committed to match later offers that come through before delivery (late August).  I prefer the current styling to the new more angular model and plan to keep the car for a long time.  I've already found a number of useful posts helpful so thanks very much to everyone!
