Hi all am new to all this so I will try my best with the info I got I need some help with my mk1 fabia vrs steering is very heavy and lights dim I've looked on here to see if there was a topic before but not found anything very helpful The car has been sat at a local garage for 5 months and they couldn't find anything so I brought a vag com cable of eBay plug it in and got 1fault code.

01288-terminal 30:steering assist signal to low - intermittent

Anybody with any info would be very appreciated thanks

Is your battery good?

Yes mate battery all good and been tested

OK, have you checked the fuse links on top of the battery? They can develop hairline cracks.

 

 

Also, have you checked/cleaned the battery lead earth connection at the suspension turret?

Does your battery light come on when you turn the ignition on but don't start the engine?

Yh put new fuse on checked the earth cable and battery light comes on when you turn the ignition on

Hmmm, might be a dodgy connection somewhere then.

Yh could be I have tried all the power to the pump and it's all good I've bin told it could be the angle sensor or the sensor on the rack
