Engine management light after 2nd Turbo replacement

Featured Replies

I could do with some help if anyone has any knowledge or experience, or knows who does.

Octavia II 2006 1.9TDI PD. I've had the turbo replaced, twice now (recon from GAP) but the engine management light is still on and I'm in limp home mode. I'm thinking something else is the problem. Does anyone have any prior?

Did the company investigate the cause of failure.I would be concerned that you required two turbos and would want to know the underlying cause of the failure before fitting a second. From what I have read the 1.9tdi is not a known turbo chewer, I would be wondering if it was suffering from oil starvation or the likes.

Yes, I think the codes showed under-boost after the first change and after the first change it was covered in deposits and some part of it had burnt out, GAP asked if I'd been using biodiesel, but I haven't. This time round the garage have followed the fitting procedure avidly, cleaning all the breathers and EGR very carefully and then photographing them!

Ok, this is bad, but the vacuum hoses were on the wrong way round! Solved now.
