how long does NCB last once policy cancelled

Featured Replies

Have recently sold my car have full ncb, however not looking to get a car , daughter is but insurance will have to be in her name.

I cant transfer my ncb to her.

My present insurers say that I will be able to use ncb on a new policy if done within next 2 yrs, unsure what other insurers do, might not want to even renew with them

NCB lasts 2 years.

You can take it to any other company once you have proof

Hi,

NCB normally last for 2 years however we have some schemes that will accept it for up to 3 years. Unfortunately you wouldn't normally be able to transfer NCB to your daughter.

Regards,

Dan.

If your partner/wife drives you could always switch the policy on her car between you. By alternating each year or every 2 years you can keep each of your bonuses live. This'll work better if she has full bonus as it would slow her progress up the scale otherwise.
