Bye bye Fabia II, hello Octavia III

Featured Replies

After 4 years and 35k miles of largely troublefree motoring, we've part-ex'd our Fabia SE+ Estate for a new Octavia 1.4 TSI SE Estate in Race Blue, from Skoda stock (so current model year) with the 0% finance deal.  We went looking at the Fabia III but as we needed to change before the end of this month - when MOT, 40k service and new brake pads/discs were all required - the availability of a car in stock along with 0% finance and and excellent PX offer tipped the deal on the Octavia.

The Fabia's been a great car - only two minor let-downs: once with a failed wiper motor which required Skoda Assist as it was wet, and secondly a broken starter connection which meant it wouldn't start.  Both times Skoda Assist and dealer were excellent.  I think it's fair to say the Fabia II estate is no looker, and certainly a better car to be in than admiring! The 1.2 TSI 86 engine is a cracker, and I hope the 1.4 140 in the Octavia is as good. Likewise the boot space is remarkable for the size of car. We came from a 51 plate Mondeo to the Fabia and hardly noticed the difference.  Now that the children are getting older I think the bit of extra elbow and leg space in the back will be valuable.

Hopefully the Octavia will continue my positive relationship with Skoda.

So goodbye Fabia II (and III) forums.  It's been interesting following the stories of modifications and VRS woes.
