Fog lights

Featured Replies

Hi all long time lurker here.

Been using VVDS on my own vehicles for the last few years mainly for fault codes and SRI reset. Nothing complicated at all. I have experience of using various systems on other vehicles.

Today I was asked if I could change the fog lights over on a mates car and said would give it a go following the instructions on the second post on http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/299424-octavia-iii-vcds-adaptations-tried-and-tested/

All fine until I tried to save the new value and it said it was of wrong length but it was the same as the other foglight, any suggestions as to why this is can't remeber what the figure was 454 rings a bell.

Car is a 15 plated Octavia VRS and I am using a hex can lead bought straight from Ross tech  using 14.10.2 release of VCDS any help appreciated

Cheers

Welcome (to posting at least  :D )

Without knowing what you changed its impossible to say, I coded a brand new vRS about a month or so ago and it took the coding no problem.

Oops sorry

(6)-Leuchte26NSL LA72-Dimmwert AB 26 was one that we tried to change from 0 to 100 and it just said that it was the wrong length

Update VCDS to the latest Beta and try again :)

You didn't come out of adaptations and try to go back in again did you?

Or spend quite a long time in the adaptation channels - you will get timed out?

What happened if you tried to go all the way out of the controller, enter the security access code again and then go back in to adaptations?

I haven't found a O3 yet I haven't been able to enable both rear fogs on (and I can now do both rear fogs on a FL O2 :) )

Went straight into adaptations after entering the security code which was accepted and it just says the new value is the wrong length, thought 14.10.2 was the latest vesion

It is, but the Beta versions have always worked better on MQB platform cars. The latest Beta also did a firmware update on my cable.

I have done at least 20 rear fogs on O3s (if not more) and I have never seen that error message. this is across all variants and MY's (2013-2015.5), the only MY I haven't done it on yet is a MY16 as I think the first few have only just hit owners this week.

What value is set on this channel

Hint - if you haven't assigned a function to the channel I doubt if you can set a brightness value :)

If you are still struggling, pull me a full adaptation map for controller 09 and PM me with it and I'll take a look. Instructions on how to do this are here
