Roomster windscreen problems

Featured Replies

Hi this is my first post. I've had two Roomsters since 2010 and have a 2013 1.6 tdi se and I'm very happy with it. My last one was a 1.9 Scout and apart from the hard ride I was happy with that too.

However I had four windscreens replaced in two years, all these were Skoda badged and this happened on both Cars, until my last windscreen fitted eighteen months ago which is Pilkington badged. Has anybody had a similar problem?

Hi Buckpetely and welcome to Briskoda.

I've had two Roomsters since 2009.  My first was also a Scout - I loved everything about it except for the hard ride.

I've not had to replace a windscreen (yet!) and you are very unlucky to have had to replace four.

What were the reasons for replacement?  External impact damage?

One or two Yeti owners have reported the need for second replacements due to external impact damage.

But I cannot remember anyone in the Roomster section reporting similarly.

What do you think the issue is?

Regarding the Roomster windscreens, all were caused by external impact, I've had similar and worse impacts with the Pilkington screen with no problems so far, some marks on the screen but no damage bad enough to need a replacement.
