Cracked tyre

Featured Replies

Hey chaps :) Tell me please what do you do to remove the tyre when it is cracked? I remove the bolts but the wheel is completely stick to the car  It can't move

Cheers

The wheels have a habit of getting stuck on. It's the meeting of dissimilar metals, welding it's self together.

If all the bolts are removed it's probably going to be a case of brute force.

I watched my brother in law trying to change his octy vrs wheel and he had the same problem. He sat on the ground and kicked first the top and then the bottom edge of the tyre and it came loose. He told me that when he did it once before - he actually took a running jump at it  Best not try that though - I'm sure an expert wouldn't endorse that method!

Do you use lubricating oil or some lubrication

When you put the wheel back on then a smear of grease on the inside is a good idea.

I smeared copper grease on the parts that touch the hub.....This helps, also carry a rubber mallet in the boot, Just "incase ;) " ,also to remove the wheel :)
