Insurance up this year for everyone or just me?

Featured Replies

Renewal in today.

Up about £30 on last year.

Ran a couple of comparison site check and tbh the renewal is within a £5 of the lowest prices.

I did have a windscreen claim last year although an earlier claim (also no fault) is more than 5yr now so I don't need to declare it.

Mine went up big time so told them to rerqoute or the pair of us will be off , dropped to same as last year

I expected the renewal to go up it was just that everyone else seems to have gone up the same.

All four of ours have gone down this year.  Up at renewal, but like blueR36, came down to a sensible level after shopping around.

Last year mine was £180. Renewal price to cover me from the beginning of July this year was £309 (they always ramp this up, no surprises here). Got them to price match the cheapest Confused quote at £162 which didn't include legal insurance. I always have legal insurance included and they threw that in for free (worth £27). Verry happy with that outcome.

Most of the big companies I've been insured with have ramped up the price on renewal, so it was quite pleasing to get a renewal quote from Adrian Flux that was only £12 up on last year. Usually it's been at least  £50+. Last year's quote was extremely competitive so I've stuck with them.

The first broker I insured through I stayed with for around eight years or so, before they started hiking the renewal offer - up to then it had stayed the same or dropped, even with changing cars (all gutless, so no performance premium!).

First time mine has gone up in about 10yr.

VRS was down to quotes for £120 fully comp at one point.

Surprised a windscreen claim would make that much of a difference

Hi,

Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you like. If you wanted to PM me some contact details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.

Regards,

Dan.

My insurance renewal made a several hundred pounds leap this year to the painful side of £1300! After a quick Google compare search I had better cover with lower excess, like-for-like courtesy car, etc... For the breezy side of £500 ☺ I guess direct line just didn't want my money...
