Remap graph....

Featured Replies

As promised.........

hopefully someone can translate the power curve delivery into something more meaningful than my "slow, slow, oh-my-god-i'm-going-to-die" response

Easy Joe.

The "slow, slow" bit is before 1700rpm. The "oh-my-god-i'm-going-to-die" is after 1700rpm :D :P

Looks good (but I already knew that ;) )

Couple of interesting things: the pre-remap graph, do you know if that was done before or after Jabba changed the MAF? At about 2750rpm, you have that horrible downward blip on the graph for torque, and power doesn't change.

On the remap, apart from the lack of blips, it's nice and smooth. Everyone says look for the overall area under the curve, not the peak value, and it's really true here. The prolonged torque makes the car more driveable and willing to pull, particularly at the higher rev range.

I was going to say the standard map looked horrid in parts, but looks pretty darn good afterwards.

to be more techie

Blue = torque. I'm surprised to see if peak at 3000rpm - The vRS is often peaked at 2000rpm or less, then it remains high and flat

Yellow = BHP, steady climb up to 3500rpm. Again, I'm surprised to see it peak like that as often the vRS again gets up there a little later and a little flatter. Might just be the type of engine in the VW.

Red = At the wheels BHP - basically as per yellow, just a little less.

Green is something else I can't remember what it means. :o:rofl:

In DRIVING terms, it tells you all the power etc is going downhill after 3500rpm, so there's little point holding on to the gears beyond 4000. Just change down and ride that torque wave again.

well, the std looks bad because MAF knckered. wasn't running at 130bhp.

was about 12bhp down. mike's comment was "it really doesn't want to rev". which answers Xav's comment about when the before map was done. it is, i guess, one of the things that showed up the dying MAF as i hadn't got any lights about something being wrong yet.

as for it being a different engine, can't be too different..

1.9 TDI PD130, engine code AWX........but only a 5spd box....

The Fabia vRS is code ASZ PD130, so might be ever so slightly different. Dying MAF does explain the blips in the graph. Take it you got a new one. :D

Graph looks just like the one I got!! I hope it wasn't photocopied!! LOL

Seriously though, I'm sure you're well please just like I am!

PS what diesel did you fill up with before you went? I just put Asda stuff in and got marginally lower figures than yours. just curious

Tesco when i got there.

BP Ultimate when i left.

I filled up ith ASDA the other day, and i've got to say, it was very obvious. it's now smoking a little under hard accelerartion and sounds/feels rougher.

altough that might be slightly in my head, but the smoke isn't... ;)
