rear seat removal

Recommended Posts

Hi. ..is it possible to remove the rear bench base seat to fit seat covers. The front of the bench pulls up but the rear seems to be permanently fixed.. thanks

The bench seat is held in place by two plastic grommets at the front and a hook at the rear - once free from the front gromments you need to push the bench seat backwards then lift it free from the hooking mechanism. I will post a picture from EKTA when I finish work as I need to replace the front grommets, but have not yet carried out the repair.

Black_sheep I tried that it didnt work. It is a mk3 your instructions are for isnt it. It has isofix fixtures in and 2 metal hooks that hold the front of the seat down...

managed to remove them as  you described, many thanks black_sheep

Ok cool. You are now the expert on the forum as I haven't done this yet! The grommets that fix the hooks at the front of the bench aren't very robust - mine have been broken whilst the interior has been in/out several times to fix a leak in the bulkhead. Part number for grommets is 5G0-886-373 if they need to be replaced.
