Shock, Horror, John got a Skoda and it's actually quite good

Featured Replies

First day back at work today with my new Octy and of course everyone was keen to have a good butcher just to confirm to themselves what a pile of **** it is.

The boss was up first. He has an A6 2.7 Tdi S-Line so although quite impressed with the quality of the car, he immediately started pointing out the benefits of the Audi like full sized spare alloy wheel, auto lights and wipers, 6 cd auto changer, 6 spd box, auto dimming rear mirror, front fogs, parking sensors, cruise and climate control. Got a shock when I pointed out how my car had all of that plus the little handy graphic on the radio for the parking sensors, proper dual climate control with digital temperature indicators, tyre pressure monitors and headlight washers etc. Ok my motor doesn't have 18" alloys, speed bump illergic ride height, a 2.7 litre engine or the same standard of trim in leather but it's got only 22% less power, it's lighter and cost over 40% less. That's a bargain in my book.

However, it's the Golf Mk V the Octy really puts to shame.

Then one of my counterparts went out with me to a meeting. He has a Golf 1.9 TDi Sport for which costs him
