Vrs slow start and cut out

Featured Replies

Hi all, new in a fabia vrs and my first diesel, ive had it 2 weeks now and the first week was brilliant, over the last few days it has become annoying to start first thing in the morning. Where it used to fire straight into life, it now turns over for a bit and starts, but it will cut out, no lights on dash, it will start again, just the same annoying elongated turn over. This goes on a random amount of times while driving until it reaches temp (half way on guage) and it runs perfect, no cutting out, and if stopped it will fire up instantly as it did when i got it. I have been pointed to several potential causes, idle control valve, ecu relay, coolant temp sensor and so on. Can anyone confirm the cause to this long start and cutting out? I have scanned it before during and after cutting out and there is no codes showing.

Thanks in advance,

Ally

Start with the coolant temperature sensor, it's cheap enough, good luck finding the ICV  :D

Good luck because its hidden or then is none? Lol

For the price and ease of changing the glow plugs i would swap them out

Dude, it's a DIESEL, so no ICV, stop taking advice from retards.

Lol i didnt think so, got a cts and ordering glow plugs now, hopefully cts will solve it

Tape your deep socket to your wrench to avoid it getting stuck in the glow plug hole!!!!

I would scan the ecu before buying any parts.

I had it plugged into autel today and got the following:

16725 passive/sporadic camshaft pos sensor circ, range/performance

17911 passive/sporadic load signal terminal df of generator implausable signal

17964 active/static charge pressure control valve below lower control limit

I have already changed the coolant temp sensor and fuel pump relay.

Is a cam position the solution to this? Its become very dangerous in the morning cutting out on roundabouts and this morning in the fast lane of the motorway, i do not want to drive it anymore
