New VCDS

Featured Replies

Hi

Be gentle with me - my VCDS kit only arrived today! Downloaded the latest Beta Version of the software.

I have started with some easy changes. Needle sweep. Ticked the box. When I tell it to do it is says the code is outside te available range.

Tried activation traffic sign recognition. Mine is a 6 month old L&K with Columbus so it should be usable. Accepted the changes and the code but nothing appears on the dash. Went into the car menu on the Columbus driver assist. Trafic signs are there but it only has a box that relates to trailers that you can tick which wont activate.

Am I doing somthing really silly?

Thanks

Garnett

Hope you enjoy getting to grips with it Garnett.

You got me thinking that now we have two O3's should consider vcds myself but i probably really would mess it up!

Try the adaptation channel for indication celebration.

traffic sign recognition only works if you have lane assist

I have lane assist in the L&K so that bit should be okay. It steers itself on the motorway.

oops, sorry should have spotted that

Interesting.

It appears to be very hit and miss. Repeated all the steps again this morning and both adaptions work fine. The speed sgn display has no glitches and is genuinely useful!

I've found that with a few things in the past, sometimes the changes aren't picked up, sometimes you have to switch the car on and off again etc as long as you got it working in the end that's what matters.

Also IIRC if you have to enter a security code in order to do an adapation then you only have a short time to enter it.

Its done the needle sweep thing a couple of times but there does not appear to be any consistency to it. Is it only after te car has been left standing for a while?

This is normal i think, to be honest i don't notice all the time on the vRS but have seen others mention it depends on various things if it sweeps or not - think your coding is ok

On the likes of the Yeti, once you have enabled needle sweep you need to remove ignition key and open door, then close door and then it works when ignition key is re inserted and turned.

That's kind of what I meant by the reboot thing I described Kenny but the door?? How did you work that one out? Can't remember if I've done that either deliberately or by coincidence. I've only worked on a couple of yetis (mine included) it's mainly octavias that I seem to tweak.

He is right - it is the key outv and door tat triggers it!

Well spotted!
