Skoda Octavia Amundsen aftermarket speaker upgrade, Amundsen specification

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I am looking for the Amundsen specification documents for MK3.

I would like to see what connector are on the back, and i wonder will the Amundsen recognise newly connectec speakers and sub.

I have standard 8 speaker system, i would like to add a 3.5" speaker as the middle one on the dashboard, and a subwoofer.

I would  like to find out what speakers will fit best, what are the connectors on the back of the Amundsen and will the newly added aftermarket speaker be recognised by the Amundsen.

Does anyone know the answers to my questions?

Example speaker to fit in the dashboard that i found:

Will it fit?

Don't think unless you use a high input rca splitter thing you will be able to wire a sub from a standard head unit :-/

Also why would you want a put a speaker in middle of dash board?

Well, the one in the mid is woofer i suppose. The sound bounces and spreads from the windsfreen creating very nice soundstage.

I am considering such kit for skoda:

Focal 165KRX3 6.5'' 17cm 3-Way Component Speaker

I am not sure will it fit nicely.

Are there any Skoda Octavia car specific speaker replacement sets?

Have a look at section 91 (page 27 onwards) of the Electrical workshop manual, which is available on dropbox here...

You might need to refer to the bodywork manual (section 70) also if you need info on accessing the speakers.

...however i'm no ICE expert but i believe the system isn't like an 'old school' simple to upgrade and add speakers to and some pro advice is probably wise.
