Central locking issues

Featured Replies

hi all, I've just signed up after finding how useful some of the posts have been.

I've just bought a 2010 octavia s tdi

I'm having an issue with the central locking, all doors lock as normal with the fob. But unlocking wether double pressed or not only unlocks drivers door. I have to press the button in centre console to unlock the rest. The boot unlock button does nothing. I have put a new battery in the fob today, made no difference.

Now with the key in the door the lock just spins around. In the passengers door one turn unlocks passenger door and second turn unlocks all.

I've read bits about a black controller unit in the door?

However when you press unlock on the fob first time you can hear something happen in the other doors, I assume this is the deadlock.

The car is pretty basic no settings screens etc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Can you post a photo of your keys? If what I am thinking is correct then your octavia s did not come with factory central locking. My 2006 s didn't, I did however fit an aftermarket Chinese kit with pretty convincing looking haa keys. They do not however work double press (exactly the same doors click but no unlock) and won't pop the boot on long press (do unlock it though) I coded out single key press and now they unlock all doors. Also upgraded ccm and have genuine kit to.

I'd say that looks very similar to my key, the buttons are a harder plastic than the genuine item. You need vcds to turn it off and enable single click unlocking. Do you have access to it?

Mine are soft rubber buttons, but I do agree with yourself.

I don't currently have access to vcds. Is it worth having?

Quick update, I've downloaded an app to my phone and using a Bluetooth elm327 reader have managed to get all doors to unlock on one press. Cost 15quid for the full app, but cheaper than the 35 local garage would charge.

Thanks for the info though!

What app was it? I didn't know you could get apps that let you change settings like that.

I think it was probably Carista http://www.caristaapp.com/ as it's been mentioned a few times on here.

Carista. I linked to car using my elm327 Bluetooth device. Pretty good app to be honest. Bought the premium after seeing what settings were available.
