Fabia vRS 1 : Clio 0

Featured Replies

So it's about 10.20 Sunday morning, i get in my car and head out; destination Monsieur Bengie's house.

Just over five minutes into my journey, and I'm quite happily travelling down the A43 dual carriageway towards the M40 Junction 10. The weather was grey, overcast and there was light rain but there was no problem with vision.

Braking into one of the many roundabouts on the A43, (for those who are local, Baynard's Green roundabout, I think it's called. The one with the B4100 crossing it) I entered the roundabout in the right hand lane with the intention of continuing my journey straight across ... and that's when things went a bit Pete Tong! I had just put my left indicator on to leave the roundabout, when ... CRASH!!!

The **** in the left hand lane had decided actually they wanted to go right and so swung straight into to my car  ... lets say I wasn't a happy bunny!

So we both pulled up exchanged details and inspected the damage, (see pictures) my car has a rather dented nearside wing, a nicely scatched alloy and the steering/ suspension is damaged (when driving in a straight line the wheel wants to be at about a ten to position). The car that hit me, a clio, was in a much worse state than mine (the picture is after the driver had attempted to push the bumper back in a bit).

Having exchanged details I proceeded to ring home and let them know what had happened, as I did this I watched the clio pull off and continue on it's way. It only got 100 yards before pulling over again and both occupants getting out and worriedly peering at the car.

I manged to get my car home and rang the insurance company, they contacted their approved local bodyshop, and the car was picked up yesterday morning. People from the insurance company have rung me many times since, in the most recent they tried to get hold of the driver of the other car but being lunch they weren't in. Apparently a message was left on the answerphone asking for them to ring my insurance company back, so they can try and extract an admission of liability. Like that's ever going to happen. :thumbdwn:

SO i'm now carless, I can't get a hire car until the garage has supplied the insurance company with a quotation and the work has been approved.

Yesterday my Dad chauffered me into work, but today he had to be in the office so he took Mum's car and I had to take his (an Audi A3 2.0 TDI Sport).

I'm now suffering from a slightly achy neck and have had a head ache since, although as yet i haven't been to the doctors (i think it's a male thing).

I'm hoping desperately that this won't affect my no claims bonus; as that would really put my insurance premium up being this young.

I also have to pay the

Hope you get things sorted & glad no-one was (seriously) hurt. Might be worth dropping into the doctors though, if you can find the time :)
