Exhaust rattle

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I've been getting increasingly worsening exhaust rattle on my vrs estate when starting the car or driving over rough roads, it's not bad but it is annoying. I looked under it earlier and all seems ok but the centre exhaust seems to be just resting on a bracket which is connected to two rubbers. Is this right or should the bracket be attached to the exhaust in some way as I think this may be what's rattling.

Agreed; a decent "local garage" will probably do it for free, or a contribution to the mechanics' tea swindle.

thats great, i just did a euro rally covering 2500 miles in a week in the old girl and she made it back but the rattle was quite bad on the cobbles :-) I do have my own mig welder so ill get her up on axle stands and tack it back in place. thanks for the info.
