EGR delete rant.

Featured Replies

To start off, I think it's a pointless mod.

But it just so happens that I'm unfortunate enough to need this modification as I couldn't fit my 130 intake manifold to my pd100 pipe work without it.

I thought hey it can't do any harm, surely.

After using the car for about a week after doing it, how the hell do all of you put up with the lack of ASV? I dred switching off the car, it's awful.

I strongly recommend that if anyone wants to do an EGR delete, to just blank it off and leave it on so you have an EGR delete and still keep the ASV.

Unfortunately for me, I don't have a 130 EGR but would happily trade my delete kit for one! :D

I agree, the thud is abit extreme sometimes!

You'll get used to it.

Also got used to it after 6 years+  :D

Unless you have the blt engine and can keep the asv.

Low blow that was ;):D

Oh and yes..... BLT rules!!

I've heard if you hold the clutch pedal in when you turn the engine off it can help reduce said thud? But yes BLT rules  :D

I find it helps a bit.

Bacon, lettace, tomato ftw lol

I find it makes no difference.

Best thing for ASZ/ATD is to just blank off the EGR pipe and adapt a 99 degree bend (cut off the coupling for ATD)

Shame I don't have an EGR kicking about :(

I've got three now from fitting egr deletes.

I always planned on just blanking them off and keeping the asv but end up fitting big hybrids or GTB's and don't like a bit butterfly valve on the inlet restricting flow.

I have just fitted my egr delete 2 days ago have have been advised to blank it from the manifold but am Unsure what to do with the two coolant pipes? Thank guys c00a2698b54826252be37800e5d9fc9f.jpgf70e7e55a6896ec47a5ec3952ce833b2.jpg

Join them together?

If you don't blank it from the manifold the pipe pictured eventually splits in most cases. I believe the redundant coolant pipes can then be joined together from what I've read or you can buy an EGR cooler delete kit from darkside developments.
