Interior Lights

Featured Replies

I picked up my new to me Octavia (2011 1.8tsi hatchback) yesterday from a Main dealer. When I got home I noticed that the boot light doesn't work and then that the interior lights don't work! Maybe other things don't work connected to this.I have zero tech knowledge so wouldn't know where to look for a quick fix.I have tried the switch settings and it doesn't make any difference where you set it.Can anyone offer anything helpful please!

Have you checked fuses? I believe dealers sometimes remove them to stop car going flat while they are trying to sell the car.

With zero tech knowledge, best bet is give them a ring or pop back in, at least on main dealer you have 12 months warranty :)

Apart from boot light I assume you have checked at the switches they are set to on with doors open and not in off position?

If none of them are working it must be the fuse, it is one of the mini-blade type fuses in the fusebox and is on the label.

But it might just be easier to drop in at the dealership if it was like that when you collected it.

Defo take it back to the dealer, it'll be the fuse that controls the ccm

Latest update! On the way to work this morning, I stopped for a paper.Got back in car and started it, moved 10ft and conked out! Could not restart it.Phoned RAC.He checked battery, oil level ( half full after pre purchase service!) and fuses. One not working(didn't say which one). His conclusion ECU packed up.Towed to main dealer. They phoned me this afternoon to say the only thing wrong they could find was a fuel pump fuse blown and mysteriously the interior lights were now working!

Before I picked the car up I had a tow bar fitted and I am wondering if this has effected the electrics! Does that sound plausible? They also wondered if I had been fiddling with the fuses in some way! I did look but don't really know what I am doing so left alone.

I am worried now that there is something else wrong beyond just a fuse.Do I have any cause to be concerned?!
