Fabia window problem

Featured Replies

Was driving back today and when putting the windows up the passenger side window reached the top and there was a horrible noise from inside the door. Kind of like a crunching/banging.

Anyway, I put the window back down a bit and it made some more awful noise more kind of crunching/scraping, and then when I tried to put it back up it made even more horrible noise and slowly sunk down into the door. I could pull it up a little way manually at first but can't anymore after fiddling.

Does anyone have any idea whether this implies that the actual glass has smashed, or of it's just come off the runners or something else that even a simpleton such as myself may be able to fix without incurring gross labour costs at a local garage.

Cheers!

usually the linkages (plastic bits in them) breaking.  Relatively common.

I have a passenger door in Devon you could potentially scavange all the bits you need to change yours over. :)

Ahh, perhaps I'll try and have a wee look before taking it down to the garage then. Hopefully it doesn't rain too much in the mean time..

And cheers, but just moved down to london yesterday (this is definitely what I needed when trying to move in!), so a bit of a trek ;)
