seatsport intercooler and pipes

Featured Replies

Hi

Looking at investing in a seatsport fmic and pipes from power projects but unsure if there is anything g else I need for it. It does include the mounting brackets but was wondering about the sensors if there were any and if there is will the hose kit need adapting to fit them??

Thanks

Check the bolts come with the bracket .. i just got caught out with this after getting the front of the car to bits, now got to wait for 4 bolts zzz

What size bolts are they?? And where did you fir the map sensor??

I'm also interested in the bolt sizes.

I have just bought a SS intercooler off Ebay but it would seem one side uses m8 and the other an m9 thread not been able to look in to it much more as I'm away on holiday.

Well it seems all need differant lengths depending on how far out you need to sit the fmic, so the inlet/ outlet are not obstucted  - this is for the bracket. I used m6 25mm from scew fix, but to be perfect i couldhave done with 35mm,

on the intercooler, outlet/inlet side the m6 25mm, other end no idea, where bigger i used what i had that fit :P

This is what i fit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261762609631?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Glad I used the Aitec kit then rather than pishing about with the SS setup :p

I've fitted Airtec, seat sport, THS and darksides most recently. All fitted pretty much exactly the same apart from the THS needed more trimming with it being thicker than the others.

Bolt and figment wise has all been exactly the same.

he didn't fit a SEAT Sport intercooler and the thicker core isn't actually any thicker than the end tanks so shouldn't need spacing any further out than an actual oem FMIC (?)

ths got thicker cores

Yep that's right, like I say, fitted almost every kit on the market and they all went the same apart from the THS one which needed more trimming to the radiator housing plastics. Fittment is exactly the same though.

I'm lost with the problems about different fitments and "awkward" bolts and whatever els.

I was referring to post #4..... Perhaps I should have simply said that I'm glad I was able to fit my fmic without trouble....

ahh, I'd assumed you were referring to the person that had mentioned having difficulty fitting their FMIC. pretty sure that most people fit theirs without trouble :)
