Air Induction Kit

Featured Replies

There's probably hundreds of threads on this, but after some advice. Which is the best kit to purchase, as there seem to be various priced ones out on the market.

Are there any guides to assist in fitting? I'm not the most confident person when coming to mods, and not sure I could do it unless it really is that easy to fit?

Any help is appreciated.

I've been contemplating this too, but I'm yet to be convinced there's any benefit other than noise. Looks pretty simple for what it's worth

Depends on what "kit" your meaning

If your just replacing the air filter with a performance panel filter it's easy

If your replacing the whole inlet with some fancy pipe work and what not then that might be more in depth ...

I wouldn't bother with a performance panel filter, they do nothing. Standard paper ones are just as effective, and a sixth of the price.

Only way for gains, is an induction kit. They help the engine breathe a bit better and typical gains are 5-10 bhp, plus a nice sucking noise if you like that sort of thing.

I have the Neuspeed kit, which is great, but there are many other kits that all do the same job.

They are easy to fit, come with instructions. Honestly, anyone could do it. It just involves replacing your standard air intake with a bit of tubing and a filter with a jubilee clip. Easy.

Point worth mentioning, is if you change to an induction kit, your engine cover won't fit,so you can either leave it off, modify it to fit, or do what I have an bought the engine cover off an Audi TTS, and a couple of screws you need to make it fit.

Looks smart, as I didn't like it without a cover on.

If its just looks, you could try going for a carbonio intake or similar, which just scoop a bit more cold air in and retain the factory airbox, although gains are negligible.

Best of luck whichever you decide to go for :)

Let us know what you go for :)

Is an engine cover needed?

Just need to find costs...

Not needed, it's just visual

Not sure I would want one with an Audi logo on it though. This is an aftermarket one

It's easy enough to remove and fill over the logo :-) just to clarify, it's a TTS cover used not a TTRS.

My induction kit is a Ramair oversize kit from eBay, I've no complaints, fitted well and definitely frees up the engine at higher rpm.

Oops, yes TTS.

Typo... now edited

And yes, Audi logo easily removed, if you wanted to

Any real difference between the Carbonio and Carbonspeed intakes?

TIA.
