I am after some quick advice...

 

I have a 2004 MK1 Octavia with original factory fit stereo (single din) which has the little single din storage space under the stereo...

 

I am wanting a double din stereo in and so my question is this - do i need a double din cage or is there one in that holds the current stereo and storage area ???

It needs the double din cage (should come with a new one), when you remove the single din and box all that's left is the plastic area for it to fit into, I had to remove the 'H' bit at the back to fit mine in properly.
