7 Speed DSG Dry Clutch Service Requirement?

Featured Replies

Has anything changed with the service requirement on the 7 speed dry clutch?

I know the 6 speed wet clutch box requires an oil change at 40k miles or 4 years but didn't think there was a requirement to do so on the 7 speed dry clutch box.

May Dad has been ringing around for quotes for a 4 year service on his 1.2TSi DSG and two Skoda Dealers and an Independant have all quoted him for a DSG oil change.

Thanks

Lee

Has his DSG (DQ200 & Speed Twin Dry Clutch)  required the 'Free' Service Campaign Work.?

To change the Synthetic Oil to Mineral, & do a Software Update.

Not all require this.

There was no Service Schedule for the DQ200 before VW had to do a World Wide Recall excluding the EU/ UK,

then started a Service Campaign from May 2013.

This is what New Zealand got.

................

Since Skoda UK started the Service Campaign in May 2013 and people have had Mineral OIl

put in their DSG, there has been no word on if,

the DSG (DQ200)  now needs this changed anytime.

Best ask Skoda UK Customer Services or a Skoda Dealership Service Manager or Technician that

know what DSG they are talking about.

They need to check the cars Reg No. / VIN.

The car had a new clutch pack under warranty and the oil changed to Mineral oil last year so it doesn't need an oil change anyway.

I'm just curious why two main dealers and a VW Specialist are quoting for a DSG service on a dry clutch 7 speed. They are quoting the same price I paid for an oil change on my 6 speed wet clutch last year.

Maybe just for the same reason as when you ask some about a vRS Fabia they say it is a Diesel,

and might even argue that you do not get ones with an autobox.

They know jack sh_it sometimes even when you give them a Registration Number on a Service Desk.
