correct timing belt kit and waterpump?

Featured Replies

Giving my 2004 1.9tdi pd100 a belt and waterpump a change this week.

Gsf have got35% off all parts so thought id take advantage and get cambelt kit waterpump as its due a service.

Looking at the kits i noticed a vibration damper plate? Would i need to renew the one on car.

Also im reading that the metal impellar waterpumps are not as good as plastic?

Help please before i purchase wrong items

Got a link to each part to check?

It's down to choice, metal or plastic is fine. If your coolant freezes in winter or something the plastic one will come off and need replacing.

The metal one might throw the timing belt off and kill the engine.

What do you think. It doesnt tell you if waterpump has metal or plastic tho

For total peace of mind, always go to TPS.  There is a branch in Peterborough.

Cheers for that.

I can get cambelt kit for less than £80. Waterpump for 20. I reckon a sweet buttering up of my local independant i can get it all done for less than 250.

Looking at book times around 4hrs to fit.
