Monte Carlo tyre issues are ruining Toyota's rally.

After the ACM cancelled a stage at short notice, the Toyota's plummeted from the 1-2 they held as their tyre strategy was optimised for that stage. Subsequent punctures and wheel problems have knackered Tanak and Meeke, who despite being consistently the 2 fastest cars are stuck down in 5th and 6th place. No wonder Toyota boss Tommi Makinen had a rant at the organisers yesterday.  At the front Ogier and Neville are only seconds apart going to the final day.

Last minute stage cancellation isn't unknown, but it is fairly rare and Toyota are not the only people who suffered because of the cancellation. Mäkinen can bleat all he likes, this is how it is these days. The suggestion of cancelling the morning loop would be unfair to the people who spend their hard earned on spectating the sport. However, the organisers so need to figure out how to improve their crowd control strategy.

What is the point of Marcus testing it? Ott, Jari-Matti and Kris could use that mileage surely.

Meeke fastest in shakedown (3rd time this year), but cuts a corner on stage1 and punctures.

Now last of the works cars by a mile.  (ignoring part timer Loeb who's having a mare too).
