Engine cover bush / mount

Featured Replies

Mine's is loose and pulls straight out of the hole in the manifold that it should sit in.

The threaded part, if it should be threaded, looks knackered but the inside bore on the manifold (or whatever this mount fits into) doesn't look like it's threaded at all. How should this fit? It shouldn't just pull out like mine's does -

It should stay like this (below) and not pull out with the cover

Can anyone shed any light on this?

If the thread in the manifold is shot, you may be able to cut a larger thread and fit a different bolt.

I'd try using Araldite or similar and fix a stud in the manifold.

Happens quite often, I'd plop a bit of chemical metal in the hole then push the threaded bit back in, let it dry then it'll hold it.

I will do, cheers guys.

I had thought on using some Araldite that i have in the garage but wanted to be sure it hadn't been bodged up already and was an easy fix
