Elegance Outdoor Questions

Featured Replies

I've recently bought a Sept 14  170 Elegance Outdoor manual with 2000k on clock, it was purchased from a Franchised Skoda dealer who got it Direct from Skoda who's name is the only one on the logbook.

I obviously checked before buying it had all the bells and toys I required .

I'm now rather puzzled about some of the spec I'm findiing,

Extra optional equipment fitted

  Rough road package

  Spare wheel and floor

Chrome tail pipes (which the brochure says can not be fitted on 170)

 Textile mats

Equipment that should be standard but not present

6 CD changer which I take should be a stacker system in boot as was fitted to my earlier SE

Removable box in luggage compartment

Removable LED Lamp in luggage compartment

I'm guessing the last 2 could have been borrowed by Skoda

Have checked the January 2014 and the next Brochure after that for info.

I find it strange a pool car had the extras fitted and bit puzzled about CD being a single but not really worried as SD card is my main source.

Do any other Elegance owners have the single CD and Chrome pipes from delivery ?

The single CD slot takes 6 - there has never been a stacker in the boot.

According to the earlier manual there was a 6 CD unit mounted in the side of the boot.

As far as I'm aware the removable box is not compatible with the spare wheel which raises the boot floor level.

The  LED torch is about 2" x 3" and clips  into the righthand side of the Boot wall. ( probably borrowed.) ;)

I thought it was only very early SE's that had the boot mounted stacker. My 2010 SE has the in-dash set-up.

Agree about the last 2 having probably been "borrowed"!

We have a 2012 Elegance 170 4x4 and it has the chrome tail pipes.  They are held in place by spot welds rather than grub screws, but I wouldn't like to say for definite if they were factory fitted or not.

Are you sure you only have a single CD unit?  The Bolero in our Octavia has a single CD slot but it does take 6 discs one at a time.  Never tried CDs the Amunsden or Columbus, but I think they may be single CD units.  Our Elegance has the Columbus and no changer.

If the dealer is any good they should be quite happy to replace the torch for you.

I've just P/Xd a 2013 140 SE Plus which had a boot stacker system and I believe one of my earlier 1.2s also had the same this is why I thought it was a standard fitting but obviously not.

The 6 CDs slot now makes sense thanks for the tip.

The Chrome pipes do appear to be welded and I believe are factory fitted.

Not too worried about torch and the info you have given about box not being available if spare is fitted makes sense.

Thanks all for you replies and help.

"with 2000k on clock"

Thats a lot of mileage for one year!

Believe the SE Plus was the only standard UK spec with the 6 CD system in the boot, due to having the Amunsdun Nav with the single disc drive.

Also many head office management cars can be well loaded with options (depending on how up the 'food chain' the recipient is within the company).

Yep, I've got the se+ & it had the cd changer as standard in the boot. Hardly use it though as the sd card is so much better.

Try 2,000k   well I knew what I meant .

Thanks Plumber thats obviously correct, and I must say I'm not going to miss the young lady telling me to "follow this road for a long way"

A boot mounted stacker......I remember that being around 20 years ago.

Did the Outdoor come with mudflaps? I have an Outdoor SCR-110 SEL coming,

and I am getting paranoid about mudflaps as it is Candywhite. I was referred to

the brochure but there are none available! I do know they charge £42 per set to fit!!!

There were none fitted to ours, so I got the garage to fit as part of the deal.

I've found they are not all that effective though.

Some time ago a member did fit slightly larger flaps, there is a guide somewhere in the archives which he wrote, but this could have been for the old Google eyed Classic model.

after paying just over £25k for our Yeti I still had to pay £40 for the flap set...why I have now decided to move away from Skoda dealers and cars direct from them.

Sorry to hear, but understand your sentiment - your car salesman was probably on his commission-paid holiday when you made your mudflap request!

Part of the deal was flaps and mats coming with the car from wolves dealer

If I'd paid over £25000 for a 1.2 petrol Skoda, I would move to another brand too...

Skoda mudflaps don't seem to be worth the money so I will leave it for now.

I was told it had a spare wheel but even if it has the false floor is Extra.

I wish I had gone back to a Ford Focus!!!

So the spare wheel was uncovered in the boot with no floor on it?

I bought a loaded Elegance rather than have the L&K with limited colours and upholstery options. The L&K then was about £500 more than I paid. Yep, only going back to them for the service record now.

Snap - our Elegance was £800 more expensive than we would have paid for an L&K.

But that was worth it to avoid brown leather and the origami alloys.
