My Octy PD estate is on this extended servicing setup, up till now Ive had to use the Castrol 'SLX' oil, however found out to day that this has been superceded with a new Castrol oil entitled 'Edge'.

Cant see any changes in specification though. Probably just an excuse to change the packaging. (1 litre over

Notice3d the same a few weeks ago , Halfords had cleared ourt all the old SLX , however could not find the VW 506/01 spec reference on the new EDGE brand , so is it ok for Variable service , wonder ??? . I have found it cheaper to buy direct from the skoda dealer , it is cheaper too

So the 5w - 30 is now as good as the 0w-30 longlife
