I love the Thermistos and am thinking about having them redone but just normal powder coating. The only thing that bugs me is the shape of them where they tend to curve outwards if you know what I mean?  This seems to make them so much more prone to 'kerbing' i think.

 

Can anyone suggest any other alloys that would be a good replacement that maybe curve INWARDS ?

Are you looking another set of 18s (I assume its 18s you already have)?  Most of the larger OEM wheels trend to have an outwards curve, like the Luxons, Trifids etc.  A smaller wheel like a Spectrum (but probably only in 16") would curve inwards.  The outwards curves obviously have the impact of making the wheel look bigger and enhancing the look of the car hence why they are so popular.

The best way to reduce the risk of kerbing (apart from not letting the wife drive obviously) is to find a tyre with a nice big kerb protector...

Nice... How did it get grawnched on the inside of the rim then?!?!

It's brake dust disturbed / smudged by the tyre fitter.
