Can anyone please tell me if the sump plug on a TDi Octavia damage the sump threads coz mine is just spinning around and not coming out is this cos it's a alloy sump

Probably been over tightened and ruined the threads. Who did it up last? From what I understand the threads in the alloy sump will give way before the threads on the steel sump plug. If that is the case then you should have it helicoiled or replace the sump.

Thanks tom its cost £30 to have a helicoill put in but all fixed and no leeks
