Jason's (ex Gee's) Octavia vRS Estate

Lucky boy it was a bargain :)

Well, I have taken off the "tarty" wheels (Sorry but 3SDM do nothing for me - For sale! :D) and put black vRS spiders on with 225/45 R17 tyres (Thanks, Swaffy!)  Need to get some air in that front right though, and my compressor is in the mongrel Ooops.

Left rear spacers on.  Took front ones off as spiders wouldn't sit on the hub at all, so didn't fancy that. :)

Just treated to a full iron-out treatment and a wash.  No photos as sun is pretty much disappearing and its getting a bit dimpsy (as they say down these parts)

Very nice, and a sound buy

I need to get the steering wheel off asap.  It tracks true, but the wheel is slightly pointing off to the left.  A little annoyance. :D   I think the steering wheel must have come off and not been marked before being put back on.

Glad you got home ok, good to meet yesterday on the fast train.

Thankfully removed enough octavia airbags in my time (still fiddly though) to do this, and have the right spline for the wheel.  The plan would be to get airbag out, remove wheel and just move it one tooth on the spline to the right, then reattach and hope then it is straight. :)

lmao..  that steering wheel always annoyed the **** outta me!   always planned to change it so never bothered!

glad you like it..   as for the interior light.... my bad,  that will be where i removed the W8 light in haste for my fabia!

wished the wheels fit my GTR,  love those wheels

As above, glad it found a new home on Briskoda and wasn't broken for bits.

Not much update today.

I learned how to take speed bumps.  Still scraped a bit even at snails pace :D  Still think it needs raising 10-15mm.

I plugged in VCDS and cleared the airbag light (passenger igniter resistance too high, but light didn't come back on so assume OK) - and also reset the service warning.  No faults in engine section, so I am happy!  Potential long term issue with the electrical connection to rear right ABS sensor, but cleared it and hope it doesn't come back.

Local chap came for a test drive too, so I maybe have a potential way out of the car once the mongrel is back.  At the moment, just enjoying having some serious petrol power in my life. :D

It's a awesome car. If I had the room I would of picked it up when I got the fabia.

Good buy, be it temporary......but it looked far better with the other Alloys on...IMO

Good luck with it

As above, glad it found a new home on Briskoda and wasn't broken for bits.

It's not out of the woods yet, Jason has it! :D

I'd only break it if the engine imploded for some reason.  I can't sell it with a knackered engine.  Odd puff of smoke two times today, but just something to keep an eye on as car driving really nicely!

Changed the rear wiper blade today for the correct sized one (top).  Now it doesn't catch on the top of the bootlid and jam up. :D  Not sure if the lower blade is from a hatchback perhaps.  Either way. it was too big by around 3".

This weekend she went up to Cumbria and back.  Couldn't fault it apart from the heat wrap making another break away from the exhaust so had a bit of flappage :D   Will check that out this week.

Within 2 weeks this "project" of mine is likely to be moving on.  Looks like the mongrel will be ready at some point next week,

lol...   that wipers off the skyline..   i robbed the aero one off the octy the day u picked it up lol

God and never tested it?  :P

Anyway, looks like I am in to my final days of ownership.  Thursday at the latest it goes in to the hands of a local chap who was interested in buying the car at the time I bought it.  So a pleasant sale for me to him.

The fabia should be back in next 3 days!  :D

I would love an estate for the family so if he wants a hatchback tell him I will swap :-)

Well, it's gone to Exeter now, so I might see it around now and then.

Locking this and will let the new owner start a new thread if they wish.
