3 Year service September, anything I should be looking out for before warranty end?

Featured Replies

I'm going to be getting my car looked over by a friend before I take it for the 3 year service (September 2012 vRS CTHE), I want to make sure I get anything that is covered by warranty done so hopefully having another set of eyes cast over it nothing will be missed.

I'm going to get him to check steering rack/track rods because I've seen that mentioned, anything else that you would advise me to get checked out?

You probably have everything sorted as needed.

Engine now with a Skoda Goodwill extension on it, DSG Service Campaign work done.

You need to have the Brake Fluid changed at 3 years if not done already.

So anything like the steering should be checked as you are doing.

Any corrosion on the wheels or badges have the dealer get a claim in on that.

I take it getting a 'Skoda Approved Extended Warranty' will be of no use because it excludes what you use the car for.

I can't extend the warranty until my 3 years expires (I have to purchase and then claim back from Skoda CS), I never needed the DSG service campaign on my car.

I'll make sure the brake fluid is requested to be checked/changed if necessary, thank you for the tip

Centre caps were changes recently under goodwill due to them starting to deteriorate

I will look into the Approved Extended Warranty, shouldn't make any real difference due to use imo, nothing is getting any more abuse than a daily drive really, not gears or clutch to wreck like a manual!!!

The terms of the Skoda Approved Extended Warranty from Car Care Plan LTD excludes Driving Instructors cars,

(Driving School) so not worth paying for.

PS

Others that had an Extension from Skoda UK on the Engine Warranty did not have to purchase it and claim back the cost,

so no idea who came up with telling you that is what you need to do.
