Original Base Car 2008 Octavia Elegance 1.8TSI 6speed manual  purchased new in Melbourne.

 

Wanted to keep exterior reasonably low key  - at my advanced years I don't want to draw any unnecessary attention! My modding bug started fairly innocently with a stage 1 tune and that was it!

 

Underneath the skin of this shopping trolley now lies the following which is currently being run in at 12psi

*Engine

CAW EA888  2.0TSI (ex Jetta with 8000klms)

Head stock for now

Internals forged: Mahle pistons, IE rods

Bores honed and engine balanced

Timing chain tensioner - latest revison

Turbo GTX2867R  Ceramic coated Tial vband exhaust housing. External w/g Tial 38 vband to downpipe.

The engine build was done by an ex V8 Supercar engineer.

 

*Engine Management (oem ecu ignition/fuelling delete)

Inboard standalone Link G4 Extreme with  auto tune (set target fuel ratios etc and engine parameters. The ecu does the rest!) 

The link is hidden behind the lower centre dash. The wiring and set up was done by an instrument technician and an electronics engineer - who both happen to be car enthusasists! 

 

*Fuelling (oem total delete including direct port injection)

Fuel pump - single intank Walbro 500hp

Replaced all fuel lines, new regulator

IE DIY inlet manifold with custom runners

Custom machined direct port bungs with double teflon seals

IDI 1000CC injectors

70mm GMH ethrottle 

 

*Exhaust

Ceramic coated  custom built pipe vbanded manifold

Ceramic coated custom built 3" downpipe

200cel cat, resonator, Varex Xforce muffler,  3" custom pipe work

 

*Cold air

3" custom made aluminium pipe

 

*Intercooler 

Modified delata tube & fin universal intercooler 600 x300 x76mmu

3 inch aluminium pipework (pancake plastic pipe delete)

 

*Transmission

Stock 02S 6speed

Peloquin LSD

Clutch Masters FX350 (SMF Steel)

Eibach Pro Springs & Struts

Whiteline sway bars

Whiteline ALK kit
