Very pleased now. Bluetooth module fitted and fully explained by a very knowledgeable tech. Works a treat. The dealership is Progress at Bedford. They were reluctant at first but came good after a little persuasion and I can't fault the service people. Thanks to all who gave me information which proved very useful.

this is so common on skoda's used site, i have been looking at VRS's the one i am sorting at current only has one option listed which is the Auto dim view mirror.  It fails in the advert to state it also has cruise, Armrest, Rear parking sensors and rear electric windows. so bonus you think.......................right.....nope, because it actually doesn't have the auto dim mirror aftr all.  can;t win with them really.

i say this time and time again, 90% of garages would sell a whole lot more cars if they just got the basics right.  majority of the salesman know stuff all about the range of cars, in fact on the whole most know stuff all about cars.  i used to sell mortgages and i don't like mortgages, i don;t go to mortgage shows at the weekend and i never bought a trackday mortgage for fun to race around estate agents, i hate them.  But as i sold them i knew every single thing about them, who sold them, what used to happen, what is happening and current news relating to them.

I am yet to find a salesman who has a better knowledge of cars than me, i can forgive not knowing a competitive brand inside out, but not knowing your own model range of cars is an absolute joke.  the only qualification for car salesman is can you say yes to whatever a client says to get a sale and can you look pretty in the showroom.

Skoda do seem to be worse than other brands though, BMW were always quite good if a little fake.

Product knowledge is the biggest weapon in sales.

My dad was very high up in a very well known, big nationwide business, and is usually appalled when he goes to buy cars, expensive gadgets etc etc.

If you dont know the product, how can you sell it?

I guess salesman get moved around too much. For example, when i test drove a 1.2TSi fabia, i was told to feel for the supercharger and turbo pulling.

Good luck i thought.. Thats the VRS, and they only work together between 3-4k rpm iirc.
